Thing 1 could use a new situation

Description

Thing 1 is doing really well. He/she (too small to tell right now) eats everything and is growing like a weed. The broad white stripes around his scutes are growth lines). I have a creep of 5 ( a group of tortoises is called a creep. No, I'm not making that up), and I think Thing 1 could benefit from more attention than I've been giving him/her. Tortoises are by far the best pet reptiles, and I think redfoots are the most personable tortoises, though I admit to just a wee bit of bias in the matter. Redfoots are hearty and do very well in captive situations, keep them warm and they'll thrive. Thing 1 was 320 grams last I checked, the larger tortoise in the photo with him is 5 pounds and growing. They do get large (10-20 pounds), and properly cared for they'll outlive you and possibly your heirs. That said they're far smaller than Sulcata or Leopard tortoises, and far easier to keep in captivity. Thing 1 was born in captivity, and keeping him going contributes positively to the conservation of this species (captive populations can serve as a lifeboat for the species, a hedge against habitat loss in their native lands). He/she eats fruit and greens twice daily. There is a rehoming fee.
