Startup group with rehearsal space in West Town

Description

Hey folks! Band start up is looking for other musicians to join us. Looking for bass, drums, vocal, keys. I have rehearsal space in West Town, with a nice drum kit set up and ready to go. This project is for fun, learning, and networking with other musicians; not the project for you if you’re looking to tour the country or sell merch to make a living. I am a good fit if the following matches what you’re looking for: - This is a hobby for me, I do this for fun and because I love making music and playing guitar - I am an intermediate/advanced guitar player; no, I am not the best guitarist you’ve ever heard, and I don’t expect you to be the best drummer/bassist/singer that I’ve ever heard. - I am a relatively fast learner and take practice seriously; I am always playing guitar and try to get in at least 2-3 hours of deliberate practice each day. - This project is for learning and growing as musicians. If you’re worried about your ability as a musician, this project is for learning, so if you’re at least borderline intermediate that will be more than ok. - I am in my late 30s. I am open to a wide range of ages joining in, but I am not the guy for you if you are big into partying/drinking/general amuck running. 420 friendly though and by all means bring beer/wine/alcohol to the rehearsal space if you’d like! - I would like to rehearse at least 1-2 times per week for 2-3 hours. Open to more frequent. - I am primarily interested in playing/writing punk, grunge, stoner/garage rock, alternative, maybe some metal elements, indie, folk elements, etc. Open to covering classic rock, 90s alternative, punk, indie, and folk songs (and turning folk songs into punk/alternative/indie songs) - I realize that a band’s sound develops as they play together, so I am not insistent on a particular genre. Bring your ideas! - I want to work on original ideas as well as covers - No experience with bands necessary – this project is how you start getting experience, ya dig? I am in the process of getting the rehearsal space all set up and looking good, want it to be a fun place to hang out and play music. If we meet up and are a good fit, we can discuss contributing to the rehearsal space rent (this would only be discussed if you wanted to access the space by yourself to practice, etc)
