There was little violence, so it wasn’t an insurrection or at the most a protest that got out of hand. If it was serious the mob/crowd would have truly fought the capitol police, they would have brought weapons in an organized manner or used available items to try and kill on a large scale. They had already seized the capitol building, they could have burned it as BlmTifa would have or held it for an extended time. Instead they left on their own accord. So before you start screeching what I said wasn’t true let’s look at the casualties: 3 dead due to the somewhat violent protest- one non-violent woman murdered by a black capitol police agent, (Ashley Babbitt shot) One protesting woman criminally beaten by Capitol police which caused her heart attack, dead (Boyland) One officer, died from the stress of fighting protestors from a stroke whatever, no significant injuries. (Sicknic) 2-3 other protestors from heart attacks. After the protest 3-4 officers committed suicide, to what extent caused by the mob I’m unsure. Now after saying that there were many thousands at the protest. Of those about 800 breached the building. Even there most again were non-violent and only guilty of trespass. Of the 800 a few hundred fought with police, broke things and stole. Yes those select groups probably did things amount to insurrectionist activity and it’s those 2-3 hundred that should get prison time. However I maintain the primary movement and mass of people was a protest. Let’s compare what happened to a REAL insurrection that happened. That is the BlmTifa riots that occurred all over the nation: 25 killed in 2020 alone Fire set to a FEDERAL courthouse in Portland Or. 1/2 Billion dollars in damage due to arson, graffiti, looting Uncountable historical monuments defaced or destroyed Open calls for revolution/insurrection and ending of the USA—true acts of Treason. I know this is difficult for you indoctrinated leftists to understand. Here is the truth. The crowd was protesting/fighting because they believed they were PROTECTING the nation and constitution. They believed the election had been stolen. Perhaps wrongly but their hearts (maybe not minds) were in the right place. Compare that to BlmTifa, they knew what they wanted which was to topple our system and relplace it. They tried to do it violently in numbers far, far greater than the Jan 6 protest. Was the capitol burned? Were government personnel killed? Did the protestors try to capture and hold the capitol? Were members of Congress harmed or held hostage? Did the great mass of the crowd act as insurrectionists or protestors? Was it an insurrection or protest that went violent? I think the answer is easily the later. Finally I personally feel the protest, turned violent and illegal was an awful thing. It smeared the right, gave unbelievable propaganda value to the left, might have even swayed the population to give the Senate the majority to Democrats. I feel it was one of Trump darkest days, even though he didn’t order the action I agree he inflamed tensions which already ran high. It didn’t help anyone except the Democrats.
