Inspired by ideas of geologic time, the challenges of early adulthood, and the grandeur of nature, Edens brings her music to life with adventurous fingerpicking, heart-tugging melodies, and poetic lyrics – inviting listeners to inhabit the songs as they wish. Her debut record Time Away From Time (2020) carves out fresh sonic territory in the realm of traditional songwriting and marks a moment of growth in the life of a budding songwriter. Atwood Magazine calls it “… a stirring and intimate alt-folk tapestry full of space to breathe, light to see, and moments of truth tailor-made for in-depth introspection.” She has been a grantee of Club Passim’s Iguana Fund, a finalist in the renowned Kerrville Folk Festival songwriting competition, and has shared stages with The Suitcase Junket, Sunny War, and Sarah Lee Guthrie. After a successful crowdfunding campaign in spring 2021, a sophomore album is currently in the works. Eliza Edens on guitars and vocals, Kyle Lutz on drums, Jacey LaManna on bass------------------------------------------About Shadow BasketFB | INST | SPTFY | .COM Shadow Basket is a project co-authored by Kyle Lutz & Jacey LaManna, currently based in Santa Cruz, CA. The band is a malleable vessel, taking on new shapes depending on both the artistic collaborations at hand and the music moving it along. Sometimes moody and bare-bone folk, and at other times loud and punk-infused indie rock, Shadow Basket’s genre is hard to place. Live show arrangements ebb and flow with Lutz and LaManna switching between guitar, bass, vocals, and mandolin. Collaborators on drums, bass, and vocals often join onstage. Shadow Basket is meant to be home-brewed, DIY, shared, and distributed among friends -- like stone soup at a potluck. Friends of the band have described the music as raw, complex, magnetic, dynamic, foot stomping, and drenched in love. Their debut record is scheduled for release in October 2021 and features an impressive cast of Santa Cruz and Portland-based musicians lending their talents to the music.
