Join us on the farms for Community Work Days! Covid safety rules are in place to keep everyone well when visiting the farms. Join us for an outdoor, on-farm work day! Please see full description for COVID19 safety protocols. Limit of 20 volunteers per Work Day. Please RSVP before attending.All visitors MUST wear a face mask at all times when on the farmAll visitors must stay at least 6 ft away from othersIf the number of visitors exceeds 10, those who did not RSVP will be asked to leave. Please note that only one name per RSVP will be considered.Come ready to work and get dirty! Volunteers will help farmers at PIF Fondren and PIF Volunteer Farm Stewards with farm tasks like weeding and mulching. Volunteers are asked to bring their own water and dress appropriately for the weather. Close-toed shoes are required. We recommend wearing: long pants and long socks - in all weather. We work with independent, professional farmers who are New Americans. We distribute fresh produce throughout our community via weekly Farm Shares, Farmers Markets, and chef & wholesale customers. As a non-profit organization, we provide targeted services to farm businesses operating in the PIF network, including access to land, agricultural and business mentorship, and access to fair markets/sales opportunities/customer base. Our Food Hub provides critical marketing services that grow the viability of small farm businesses in Houston.
