START SMART CLASS HOSTED BY HAYWARD CHP The California Highway Patrol's Hayward Area Office will be hosting a Start Smart class in person! We are located at 2434 Whipple Road, Hayward, CA 94544. Despite better roads, safer vehicles, and countless driving programs, the numbers of young drivers who have lost their lives due to traffic collisions have remained fairly constant for more than a decade. However, these deaths and injuries can be substantially reduced by eliminating high-risk behaviors. Face coverings required. We are planning the space for 10 students and their 10 parents. Please sign up accordingly. Start Smart is a FREE two hour highly impactful interactive traffic safety class designed for drivers or soon to be drivers 15 to 19 years of age and their parents.** AT LEAST ONE PARENT OR GUARDIAN MUST ATTEND WITH THEIR TEEN. Our division is comprised of twelve Area Offices, three Commercial Vehicle Inspection Facilities, one Communications Center, and an Air Operations unit. Each Golden Gate Division Area office and inspection facility was strategically placed to provide the best and most efficient service from the dedicated members of the CHP. The California Highway Patrol is the primary law enforcement agency for the freeways and highways of the State of California. In addition, the CHP is also responsible for all State-owned facilities and properties. The CHP also provides traffic enforcement services and general law enforcement to the many unincorporated communities of the Bay Area. CHP also provides assistance to other law enforcement agencies as needed. Our goal is to minimize the loss of life, personal injury, and property damage resulting from traffic collisions through enforcement, education, and engineering.
