Come out Dec 17th to a killer show to help gather resources for Safe Shelter. This is one of our favorite Savannah neighbors. We've thrown shows in the past with Safe Shelter. The night will be electric featuring one of Savannah's newest bands The Maxines A badass all chick rock band in Savannah GA, are gonna roar through the fire with their blistering high energy sound.. The Maxines started when local artist AJ Grey hit up Veronica Garcia (of Bero Bero band) on IG asking “do you know any badass ladies looking to start band?”, to which Garcia replied, “Ya. Me.” A few days later they connected with twin sisters Coco & Maddie Oke to fill out the rhythm section for their 90’s grunge-inspired sound. Xuluprophet Starting off the night mellow, Xuluprophet will run through an acoustic set. Audience members will get to experience the band the way they were in 2013, in the bar that it started in. Finishing up the evening with a short electric set. Proceeds are going directly to Safe Shelter Center for Domestic Violence "The mission of SAFE Shelter Center for Domestic Violence Services is to prevent domestic violence, protect victims and promote change in lives, families and our community. Since 1979, SAFE Shelter has been Savannah’s only shelter dedicated to victims of intimate partner violence and their underage children. The groove heavy rhythmic style has its roots in Caribbean and Latin rhythms while the dual guitarist sound has shades of 60’s psychedelia, 70’s funk, 80’s rock and 90’s grunge. A very unique setup allows either guitarist to switch between bass & guitar mid song giving exciting improvisational acrobats to the music. Hosting and organizing their own fundraisers in the past for Domestic Violence Shelter, Veterans for Peace, and Loop It Up Savannah . Since 2014, ever since Oisin arrived in Savannah from Ireland, and Bronx born Xulu linked up as street musicians, they have been growing their ever evolving band. Starting with two acoustic guitars, they have reinvested their earnings into building their brand, and taking their full electric powered show on the road to SC & FL.. Aligning themselves with other local entrepreneurs, the band has become a promotions and fundraising outfit as well, and gained sponsorship from 13 Bricks Clothing.
