Melanoma Research Foundation Pediatric Melanoma Summit Pediatric Melanoma Summit January 28-30, 2022 The MRF is excited to announce that our next Pediatric Melanoma Summit will be at the Great Wolf Lodge in Phoenix, AZ! The Summit will provide educational and support resources to this growing population. Please stay up to date on the MRF COVID protocols and the Great Wolf Lodge COVID protocols as it becomes available on our website. Registration for the event does NOT reserve your hotel room. Who should attend: The Pediatric Melanoma Summit is for pediatric and teen melanoma patients (up to age 19) and their families. Space is limited and will be given on a first come, first serve basis. If your plans change and you are no longer able to attend, it is very important that you inform us immediately and cancel your reservation at the hotel so another family may be able to attend. Reserving your room: All families are responsible for reserving their own rooms. All room arrangements must be made through the Great Wolf Lodge. Please visit the Great Wolf Lodge website at www.greatwolf.com/arizona and enter promotion code MRF2021 to make your room reservations. Alternatively, call Michelle Huebner at (480) 527-2514 and she will personally assist you in making your reservation. This year, families are responsible for paying the deposit and will be refunded upon check-in to the Great Wolf Lodge. Once you have checked into the hotel, you will be moved to the MRF invoice for the remainder of your stay. Should you not attend, you will be responsible for cancelling your reservation and any fees associated. The MRF will pay for one room and the taxes for each family for the nights of Friday, January 28th and Saturday, January 30th. Guest rooms sleep 6 and have two queen beds, one sleeper sofa and one bathroom. Guests will be asked to provide a credit card for incidentals and for the deposit but will not be charged for the stay at the hotel. Access to the water park is included. Arriving before/Staying after the event: A discounted room rate of $209 will be offered to you for the nights of Thursday, January 27th and Sunday, January 31st should you want to come early or stay after the event concludes. Financial Assistance: A limited amount of financial travel assistance is available for patients and their immediate family members. To apply and learn more about this assistance policy, please follow this link. Applicants will be entered into a lottery to determine who will receive assistance. Registration for the Summit must be made prior to applying for assistance. Applications must be received by Monday, December 13, 2021, and recipients will be notified by Friday, December 17, 2021. Pima Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85258 When: Friday, January 28: Welcome and Dinner at Great Wolf Lodge Saturday, January 29: Breakfast, Seminars, Lunch, Play Time & Dinner Sunday, January 30: Breakfast, Seminars, Wrap-up & Lunch The MRF will provide a welcome dinner on Friday evening; breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner on Saturday; and breakfast, snacks and lunch on Sunday. Any meals and snacks outside of those provided by the MRF will be on your own. For young children: the agenda will accommodate children from around the age of 3-4 and up. Children younger than 3 are invited to attend but may need more parental supervision than the other children. If your family requires child care assistance for those under 3, these arrangements will need to be made on your own. Travel Arrangements: The Great Wolf Lodge is located 14 miles from the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. From Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport: head west on E Sky Harbor Blvd, and take the left lane to the exit for 41st St. Turn right onto 41st Street. Merge onto Sky Harbor Blvd and use the left two lanes to merge onto AZ-202/AZ202 Loop Toward Tempe/Mesa. Take Exit 9 to merge onto AZ 101 Loop N. Take Exit 45 from AZ-101 to Loop N. to McDonald Dr and turn left onto McDonald Dr. Turn right onto Pima Road to the Lodge.
