Fire At Warehouse On 40th Street Prompts 2-Alarm Call

TAMPA, FL — Investigators say the cause of a fire Monday at a commercial building in the 3000 block of North 40th Street was an electrical malfunction of a cutting tool in the warehouse. Tampa firefighters responded to the fire around 11:30 p.m. Monday and found smoke coming from the building. Due to the size of the building, the commander called for a second alarm for more firefighters to assist. Searches showed that the building was not occupied and there were no injuries to firefighters.
