WALTHAM, MA — Bentley University announced Tuesday that it will require all students, faculty, and staff to get a COVID-19 booster shot for the spring 2022 semester. According to the school, 94 percent of the Bentley community will be eligible to receive a booster by the start of the spring semester. Students and staff who received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine are eligible for a booster shot six months after their second dose and those who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are eligible two months after their single dose. "Last week, the CDC announced that everyone age 18 and over should get a COVID-19 booster shot," said Bentley in a news release. "A fully vaccinated and boosted community will ensure our ability to continue offering a fully in-person experience for students, faculty and staff in the new year." "Getting your booster shot will not only give you added protection against contracting COVID-19 or becoming seriously ill, but will also help you to prevent spreading the virus to family members, colleagues and friends," it continues. In addition to requiring booster shots, Bentley will implement several other COVID-19 safety measures, including requiring students to provide a negative COVID-19 test before arriving to campus next semester and facilitating weekly screening testing for all undergraduate and all residential students. Face coverings will also continue to be required in almost all indoor areas of campus. For more information about Bentley's COVID-19 safety policies, click here.
