STRATFORD, CT — Three people have been arrested in connection with two recent shootings that happened in Stratford, according to police. Stratford detectives, with assistance from the Bridgeport Police Task Force and Fairfield County Auto Theft Task Force, concluded an investigation Wednesday into two shootings that happened in the area of Priscilla Lane and Gregory Circle in Stratford in late September and early October, according to Capt. Frank Eannotti. David Caldwell, 19, of Bridgeport, was found to have fired shots at two groups of youths in the two separate incidents, according to Eannotti. "There were no injuries, however, occupied homes and vehicles were struck," Eannotti wrote in a news release. "During the course of this investigation, Caldwell engaged Task Force Officers in a pursuit where he discarded a 9mm firearm." Detectives seized three firearms, including a "Ghost" handgun, a large amount of crack cocaine, and ammunition, Eannotti said. Caldwell was charged with three counts of carrying a firearm without a permit, two counts of criminal attempt at first-degree assault, two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, three counts of weapon in a motor vehicle, and one count each of possession of a high-capacity magazine, illegal transfer of a firearm, engaging officers in pursuit, and reckless driving. He is being held in lieu of a $1 million bond. Jovanni Quinones, 18, of Stratford, was charged with weapon in a motor vehicle, altered serial number on a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit and illegal transfer of a firearm. Xavier Santos, 20, of Bridgeport, was charged with weapon in a motor vehicle, altered serial number on a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal transfer of a firearm, possession of crack/cocaine with intent to sell and possession of a high-capacity magazine. Quinones and Santos were released after posting $75,000 bonds. Eannotti said there were several witnesses to the shootings, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Torres or Detective Policano at 203-381-2098. The investigation is ongoing, according to Eannotti.
