Man Arrested In Connection With 2017 Identity Theft Case: Police

GREENWICH, CT — A Stamford man was arrested on Dec. 5 and charged with second-degree identity theft stemming from an incident that occurred in 2017, police said. According to an arrest report, on Sept. 15, 2017, Jose Luis Irineo-Rodriguez, 44, used the social security number of a retired New York City resident on his employment application for The Cos Cobber restaurant in the Cos Cob section of Greenwich. Greenwich police officers went to the Stamford Police Department on Dec. 5 to pick up Irineo-Rodriguez on an arrest warrant, his arrest report said. Irineo-Rodriguez was taken to GPD headquarters where he was processed and charged. He was unable to post a $50,000 bond, and was being held until his court date, which was not listed on the arrest report.
