Zenful Gardens is currently seeking to fill a Landscape Construction Foreman position. We are currently looking for an experienced, self-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced team environment. Job Description: The Landscape Construction Foreman is responsible for installation and management of landscape and hardscape projects. The foreman is responsible for completing landscape and hardscape installations with great precision and business minded efficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform work alongside crew and supervise crew member activities. • Delegating individual responsibilities to crew members and ensuring compliance. • Training and evaluate the effectiveness of the crew. • Ensure proper use, care, and inventory of company vehicles, equipment and tools assigned. • Promote and maintain safe working conditions. • Ability to work in a quick-paced, safety-oriented team environment. • Willingness to follow detailed instructions from team leadership. • Experience working with hand and/or power tools to perform a range of landscape or irrigation duties. • Digging and cleaning trenches for irrigation and drainage systems. • Installing pipe, valves, control wire, sprinklers, and drip irrigation. • Place and prepare soil with amendments and fertilizers. • Raking and fine grading of prepared planting soil. • Tree and shrub planting including tree staking and/or guying. • Sod lawn preparation and installation. • Able to safely work near and around heavy construction equipment and in proximity to automobile traffic. • Able to work 8 hours per day with applicable rest breaks 5 days per week. • Interacts with homeowners, subcontractors and office team in a professional manner providing a high level of service. • Sand-set and slack set tile and stone, veneer • Lighting knowledge a plus • General knowledge of construction processes and practices • Carpentry/masonry experience. • Provide accurate material calculations for new projects • Assist in estimating proposed landscape projects • Plant Care: Proper planting, amending, pruning, and diagnosing of plant health issues • Water Systems/irrigation: constructing valve manifolds, drip systems, leak inspection, etc. • Hardscaping: install patios, shade structures, dry stack rock walls, paths, trellis’, planters, etc. • Earthwork: install swale systems, rain gardens, creek beds, etc. Requirements: • COVID-19 Vaccination Required • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading a landscape construction crew • Valid California Driver’s License • Reliable transportation to and from job sites. (Position is based in Sebastopol/West County) • Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred, but not necessary) • Ability to read landscape construction plans and terminology • Electrical, plumbing knowledge • Concrete, hardscape knowledge • Move, lift, carry objects weighing up to 50lbs
