Here are the top stories today in Salt Lake City: The University Of Utah wants the public to know that those who may want to get vaccinated but are afraid of needles can access help. University of Utah therapists are now partnering with a nationwide organization to help people overcome needle phobia for free, via telehealth, typically in only two sessions. (Press Release Desk) A new report titled The Art of Association: Community Life in Utah finds Utah is the top state in the nation for volunteerism and churchgoers, and Utah communities ranked high in neighborhood involvement. But church attendance is declining, and the state ranked bottom of the list for professional organizations as well as social groups like Rotary clubs and Elks Lodges. (fox13now.com) Several windows in an east-side SLC neighborhood have been smashed and shattered by rocks thrown into them. Multiple vandalism reports have been filed for the neighborhood near 1900 East and 1500 South where several neighbors heard the crash of glass in their homes around 7:00 PM Monday evening only to discover broken windows and a mystery as to who or why. (KUTV 2News) Utah Governor Spencer Cox announced a $45 million proposal to help protect the Great Salt Lake, stating that doing so was a priority of his administration. Cox outlined that funds would, in part, come from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) saying "We don't think $45 million is enough or the end of the story.
