Press release from Klein Independent School District: Jessica Williams Dec 7, 2021 Klein Oak Varsity Cheer partnered with ABC 13, the Houston Food Bank, and the Ismaili Jamatkhana & Center to give back to the community in a big way through ABC 13's annual food drive event.  ABC13's "Share your Holiday" event is in its 41st year and aims to help those less fortunate in our community. The Klein Oak cheer squad volunteered and performed for guests, spreading holiday cheer throughout the event to all those in attendance. The squad also participated in a donation drive over Thanksgiving break. Cheer families responded with bags of donated food that the Varsity squad delivered the day of the event. Cheer Coach Brenda Sims says she is always looking for opportunities to get the Oak Cheer squads out and visible in the community.  "Being visible in our community and donating our time and talent to something beyond our normal expected tasks is a great way to give back," said Ms. Sims. "Our members are leaders on our campus and district. If we step up and get out in our community, others will follow."
