AUSTIN, TX — Austin is in for a few laughs next year as one of America's most popular comedians sets his sights to perform in the Texas capitol. Comedian John Mulaney, best known for his work on "Saturday Night Live," will perform March 24 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, 2100 Avenue of the Stars. Tickets are set to go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.com. The Austin Metro show is one of three Texas stops the comedian plans to make for his 2022 "Scratch" tour. Mulaney will also stop in Dallas and Houston in March. JUST ANNOUNCED! In 2015, he released "The Comeback Kid", also a Netflix original, which received praise. His 2012 Comedy Central special "New In Town" had Ken Tucker of Entertainment Weekly hailing him as "one of the best stand-up comics alive." Solidifying himself as a fan favorite, John Mulaney has been invited to host "Saturday Night Live" four times. He began writing for SNL in 2008 and created memorable characters such as 'Stefon' with Bill Hader and appeared as a "Weekend Update" correspondent. He has written for IFC's "Documentary Now!" and Netflix's "Big Mouth", on which he voices the character of Andrew. In December 2019, the critically acclaimed and Emmy nominated musical variety special "John Mulaney & The Sack Lunch Bunch" debuted on Netflix. It was recently announced that festivities will continue with a pair of holiday themed Sack Lunch Bunch specials coming to Comedy Central in the near future.
