CHATHAM, NJ — Pink peppermint ice cream, hot fudge, Oreos, whipped cream and candy cane crunch are more than just a delicious ice cream combination. Scoops The Chatham Creamery is making the specialty sundaes, with $1 of each one sold benefitting the School District of the Chathams' PTO. (Image courtesy of Scoops The Chatham Creamery) The chilled concoction is an offering from Scoops The Chatham Creamery that, through the month of December, benefits the School District of the Chathams' PTO. Terry McCabe, one of Scoops' owners, said people looking to "scoop" up this mouthwatering treat before the end of December, need to ask for the "Peppermint Palooza Sundae" when they order. The shop, which opened in 2019, has done similar sundae fundraisers before with community-based organizations. McCabe said the organizations develop the sundaes, then Scoops creates the sundaes and fundraiser photo.
