Wilderness Search Investigations (WSI) is a new professional volunteer wilderness search organization. We help families of missing hikers by continuing the search and investigation in a professional and organized manner after official efforts have been suspended. We are looking for someone to serve as our board secretary. The person will perform the following duties: Schedules and regularly attends board meetings and important related meetings, Prepares the agenda with input from other Board of Directors and Executive Director, Prepares the official minutes of the meeting and records motions, discussions, votes, and decisions, Distributes agenda and relevant documents before meetings, Ensures minutes are distributed to members shortly after each meeting Is sufficiently familiar with legal documents (articles, by-laws, IRS letters, etc.) to note applicability during meetings, Maintains records of the board and ensures effective management of organization's records, Assures that documents are filed and accessible, Holds members accountable for their tasks, Gets to know other committee members and builds a working relationship that contributes to consensus, Makes serious commitment to participate actively in committee work and other duties as directed by the President and or Executive Director. This important role will help families find closure. The board meets regularly online, and occasionally we meet over lunch. As we begin to meet more in-person, we would prefer you live close enough to join us. The headquarters is located in Lynnwood, WA. Also, given the type of work that we do, it is important that you are available and respond to communications in a timely manner.
