Description
Press release from the Village of Lisle: December 7, 2021 The Lisle Village Board of Trustees approved a flat property tax levy at their meeting held on December 6, 2021. The approximately $4.9 million property tax levy remains equal to the 2020 levy and is payable by property owners in 2022. The average property owner is expected to experience a reduction in the Village of Lisle's portion of their property tax bill due to the addition of new properties within the Village's corporate boundaries. "As the local economy continues to recover," stated Mayor Christopher Pecak, "the Village Board has taken the challenges faced by many in our community into account and have responded by keeping the Village's portion of property tax flat yet again. The Village continues to closely manage its operating costs without reductions in municipal service levels, and responsibly planning for, and addressing, the long-term maintenance needs of the Village's infrastructure." Approving the property tax levy is major milestone in the development of next fiscal year's budget. The proposed Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Budget will invest in Village infrastructure, with capital projects planned for the stormwater system, roadway, and water systems. It also addresses priorities identified in the Village Board's newly developed 2022-2025 Strategic Plan while taking into account the impact of evolving revenue sources. High-level services are maintained while judiciously and strategically planning for expenditures that will enhance internal efficiencies and the delivery of Village services. The Village receives approximately $0.06 of every $1.00 paid in property taxes, or six percent of a resident's overall tax bill, with the remainder being paid to other taxing bodies such as school districts, DuPage County, and other service districts.
