Press release from Village of Evergreen Park: December 8, 2021 The Pritzker Administration, in partnership with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), is leveraging federal ARPA funds to help Illinois families access and afford home energy assistance and other essential services during COVID-19. Building on the State's Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) program, the State's Fiscal Year 2022 (FY 22) budget authorizes an expansion of the LIHEAP and CSBG programs for eligible Illinoisans seeking assistance to cover costs of utility bills, rent, temporary shelter, food, and other household necessities. This means that there may now be help for those in need to receive some assistance, not only with the water bills, but any other utilities. Please follow this link to the State's Application Process. In particular, you will want to scroll down to the button reading "Request Services In Cook County".    If you are looking for help paying your water bill, you will requested to check "Water/Sewer Bill Assistance" and then fill out the rest of the information that is asked of you.
