As a part of ongoing maintenance work on the NICOR gas easement located adjacent to Concord Square Park, a contractor for the gas company will be clearing brush at the northeast corner of the park. In addition, 11 trees marked with orange ribbon along Springside Ave. will be removed by NICOR. The work is being done to ensure the ongoing viability of the gas main in that area. The Park District is currently working with NICOR to develop a planting plan to replace these trees elsewhere in the park or other park locations.
