WESTLAKE, OH — Westlake High basketball won a back-and-forth contest in Independence on Tuesday night.
The two squads came into the fourth quarter tied at 45, according to the Richland Source. The nets got plenty of action in the final frame though as Westlake rattled off 26 points to win the game, 71-67.
Winning the Independence game makes the Demons 2-0 in the early days of the 2021-2022 season. Westlake previously beat Elyria High, 71-63. Maybe 71 is Westlake's magic number.
The Demons next play on Friday when they have their home opener against Fairview Park High. That game will also be Westlake's first in-conference contest of the season.
