Description
BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso posted on Facebook late Wednesday afternoon that he would be shortly making an announcement about a run for higher office.
In the post, Grasso gave no other details of his plan. On Tuesday, Patch asked Grasso whether he was running for Congress, but he did not respond.
It's no secret that Grasso has political aspirations beyond Burr Ridge. In 2012, when he was the village's mayor the first time, he ran for the DuPage County Board and won.
In 2018, Grasso, a lawyer, ran for the Republican nomination for attorney general, but Erika Harold defeated Grasso with 59 percent of the vote. She later lost to Democrat Kwame Raoul.
