Description
MOORESVILLE, NC — The Mooresville Library is working to peak student interest in STEM, which means Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, fields historically underrepresented by women and especially women of color.
The library at 304 South Main Street is teaming up with FUSE #12080, South Iredell High School's Robotics Team to offer the monthly program the first Saturday or each month at 11:30 a.m. The STEM magic happens in the Selma Burke Room.
The robotics team has worked with mentors from lauded STEM school Virginia Tech and want to work against gender stereotypes and encourage more women to participate.
The program at the library uses simple materials and a step-by-step guide with help from the robotics team and Teen Librarian Megan Mosher.
Interested participants should visit the Mooresville Public Library's events calendar or call the library at 704-664-2927 to register.
