HOOVER, AL — Two town hall meetings are scheduled to discuss Hoover's proposed arts center. According to city officials, the meetings will take place Dec. 15 at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. Each meeting will be an hour and a half long. They will be free and open to the public. There will be an option to attend the meetings in person at the Hoover Library Theatre or through a virtual platform that will be announced at a later time on the city's social media accounts. For several years, city leaders have been discussing and researching the pros and cons of bringing a performing art center to Hoover. In July, the Hoover City Council approved an agreement that would allow the company, Live Design Group, to complete a study. The study is currently underway and is looking at several areas of importance including size, amenities, parking capabilities and more. The upcoming town hall meetings are a part of that study. City officials said the purpose is to hear what the public would like to see in an arts facility.
