*PLEASE STOP FLAGGING MY POST BECAUSE I WONT TRADE, I NEED TO FIND THEM A GOOD HOME.* I have two male brother squirrels I bought from Rms. They’re 10-11 months old and are pretty tame. They do not like being picked up but you can pet them and hand feed them. The smaller one bullies the bigger brother and he’s missing some patches of fur. My vet said it’s normal for them to fight like that, I break them up or yell at them when I see them fighting. They have to stay together, they’re social animals and also bonded. I cannot keep them anymore because I do not have the time to give them the attention they need. I also have a 5 week old kitten that is i in climbing their cage and playing with them but they don’t like her and try to bite her through the cage. She can get hurt and I don’t want that. They DO NOT come with their cage. It’s not my cage, it’s my sisters and I’m giving it back to her. She doesn’t want to sell it. They come with food, treats, dried insects, food & water bowls and a big bag of hay. I spent around $640, maybe more on both squirrels. I’m asking for a rehoming fee of $400. These squirrels are not from ohio or around here. They’re very expensive and rare to find. Rms only had them this year and cost $320. You can buy them online for $200 plus $150-200 for shipping. INFORMATION ABOUT GROUND SQUIRRELS: They need hay in their diet, Timothy hay. They eat Vita Prima critter cubes, don’t get other brands of rodent blocks because most of them have ingredients that the squirrels can’t have or they’ll get sick. They need things to chew on, their teeth never stop growing. They need a wheel for exercise or they will get fat. They eat veggies and nuts. Look up what veggies and nuts you can give them. Do not give them PEANUTS or pumpkin seeds. Peanuts has a toxin that can make them sick if they eat too much of it. They need their dried insects for protein. They do not like to climb like normal squirrels, they borrow and like to dig. They have a big dig box in their cage (it’s a bin I use) and they sleep in in. The only bedding you can use is ground walnut shells from the pet store or natural white/brown paper bedding. DO NOT USE COLORED BEDDING!!! They chew and the colored bedding has toxins in it and too much dust. The dust can stick to their genitalia and cause a block up, they will have to go to the vet. I had it happen before and had to take them to the vet, it cost a lot and it’s not fun. They do not use the bathroom in their bedding or walnut shells, they use it wherever there isn’t bedding. So only put bedding where they will sleep or they will get mad. They don’t sound like the squirrels around here. They chirp like birds. If you have any questions, please email me. PLEASE DO NOT FLAG MY POST BECAUSE I WONT TRADE OR LOWER THEIR REHOMING FEE. I NEED TO FIND THEM A HOME AND CANT DO THAT IF IT GETS FLAGGED.
