Description
Full disclosure:
I'm 40 and haven't played in a band in a while. I have a full time job (with a long ass 405 commute,) a family to support, and not a ton of free time. With the free time I do have, I would really like to play some music again.
Have plenty of gear (guitars, amps, pedals/boards) and some decent chops. Can switch up to bass if need be. Comfortable singing backups, and in the right keys, could sing lead. Used to be able to read music, at least treble clef, but it's been a really long time. Have a great ear and can write good parts to complete songs with an excellent understanding of song structure.
Musically, am all over the place. My old bands were pop-punk style, bordering on some emo/screamo, but I'm comfortable with everything from classic rock, grunge, punk, ska, alternative, and anything in between. Happy to play covers or originals, whatever.
Ideally I'm looking for people in a similar place to myself... Kind of wanting to recapture some youthful nostalgia, make some noise, have fun, play some gigs, that kind of thing.
I'd prefer to play with people who are vaccinated, left of center, non-religious (or at least keep it to themselves,) without serious substance issues, who have transportation and at least 1 free night a week to snag a rehearsal studio and jam. Prefer people in the 818 just because I really don't want to do more driving haha.
No, I don't have anything recorded and anything I do have is like 2 decades old and feels really cringey. I do have a digitech trio, so if needed, I suppose I could record a few loops and samples of playing for song ideas.
Hoping to find a few like minded players.
