Imagine your rent increasing by more than 33 percent in one month! Penal code 396 prohibits price gouging during a state of emergency, and California is officially in a state of emergency. ExtraSpace Storage on Fair Ave in Santa Cruz should not raise rents by more than the law allows.
So, if you need storage in Santa Cruz, choose a different provider!!
Did you receive notice of an illegal rent increase? It's illegal for ExtraSpace to even TRY to price gouge... so if they sent you a notice of their intent to raise rent, then they are already guilty and can pay a hefty fine.
