JOB PURPOSE The Project Tech will be responsible to drive results and quality for each stripping & waxing project assigned. This includes but is not limited to following schedules and routines to deliver expected results of quality and customer satisfaction and demonstrating a clear understanding of company standards. This position is expected to perform a variety of custodial activities across a spectrum of customers and sites. EXPECTATIONS FOR SATISFACTORY JOB PERFORMANCE • Performs assignments according to company schedule and as expected by customer • This position may work nights, early morning, weekends, and holidays. • Performs all general required tasks as directed by Supervisor • Uses floor machines for buffing, stripping, waxing, vacuuming and carpet cleaning safely, according to proper usage, and as agreed to schedule with store/customer • Knows how to perform a carpet extraction • Performs all tasks within proper safety guidelines, company guidelines, and as directed by management • Follows all company policies and procedures regarding safety, customer service, proper attire, and working conditions such as hours and timekeeping • Ensures machines are properly stored, kept clean and proper levels are maintained • Required to wear uniforms as expected at worksites • Performs janitorial/custodial tasks based on defined scope of work and customer requests. These are performed to published schedules and within explained guidelines. These tasks often include the following: o Empty wastebaskets and replace liner as needed o Dust/clean tops of office furniture, desks and tables o Vacuum all carpeting o Spot clean soiled areas when needed o Clean and sanitize toilets, basins, and urinals o Clean counters, mirrors and fixtures o Sweep and damp mop floor with disinfectant o Spot clean walls, partitions, and doors o Refill all restroom dispensers as needed o Wipe/clean all table tops and chairs o Wipe/clean vending machines and appliances o Clean sink and damp mop tile floors • Assists Supervisor in training staff, maintaining standards, and meeting customer requirements • Maintains an inventory and recommends selection of suitable custodial supplies • Locks and unlocks doors • Activates and deactivates the alarm system • Performs other duties as assigned EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent. 2 years of experience in floor care ADDITIONAL SKILLS: REQUIRED & PREFERRED REQUIRED SKILLS: • Understand and read in English • Advanced knowledge and experience of custodial duties and janitorial responsibilities • Knowledge of cleaning equipment including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and applying finishes on different flooring materials • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and processes. • Knowledge of the qualities and uses of various cleaning, sanitizing, stripping, and waxing compounds • Experience in cleaning and sanitizing washrooms • Able to demonstrate importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to appropriate Supervisor • Ability to follow directions and work within guidelines • Flexibility in schedule in order to provide services across various industries and sites • Must be able to read, understand and follow units of measure on product labels. • Demonstrated ability of maintaining janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition PREFERRED SKILLS: • Ability to maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner and according to company guidelines and all regulations ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Able to read and communicate in English • Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials up to 50 pounds • Repetitive motion involved on a daily basis may include, but not limited to, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, and squatting • Ability to operate small power tools • Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching into areas not fully air conditioned. • Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time to include climbing/descending stairwells and ladders • Can work independently and in stressful environments • Able to drive between customer locations. Some local area travel using personal vehicle. Approximately 100% of the time and will vary during the month and week. • Regular, consistent and predictable attendance • May have responsibility to enter customer facilities that require background screening.
