We are looking for responsible event staff for some of the biggest New Year's Eve events in Washington DC. We have been hosting NYE events for the last 15 years. Responsibilities could include checking people in, VIP host (ie. taking people to VIP tables), handing out party favors, set up, cleaning up certain areas (minimal), and other necessary duties. You MUST be punctual, and a people person. You represent our company and must treat patrons as the top priority. Other duties could include: Arrive 30-45 minutes before start of event. Familiarize yourself with the venue manager/host and staff who will be assisting you throughout the night. Make sure communication via phone or other means is properly and effectively setup for all communication. Ensure decorations and party favors are fully up and setup all across the venue and at the designated tables. Ensure appetizers are ready, visible, and placed on all the tables for the guests. Ensure servers or runners are ready to make sure food is appropriately replenished in a very timely manner. Make sure security ropes are setup outside, preferably to separate the regular line and table line. Ensure security is ready to check people in and confirm that they are aware of using provided arm bands for entry and stamps for re-entry. VIP Tables: Have the app downloaded and be prepared to check guests in. Will also be assisting when table guests arrive to check them in. Get ID and CC and provide it to the designated table staff. Spreadsheet of tables will be provided. Make sure table guests are greeted and taken to their appropriates tables. Ensure you are giving the ID and CC to the table staff of the venue and that you are closing their tab upon receiving their alcohol request. Periodically checking if all tables are good and happy without any issues. A spreadsheet will be provided. -- Depending upon the traffic of checking guests in, remember to check on the tables and make sure they are happy and having a good time. Ensure the champagne toast is ready to go for countdown 30 mins before the countdown. Make sure they are appropriately placed on all areas of the venue so that it is easily accessible by guests. Confirm the tables have received their toast by table staff before the countdown to midnight. Make sure the DJ is doing a countdown!!! After midnight, make sure all tables have closed their tabs. -- Those are some duties. You will be given clear directions on what your role is and what is expected. The work is both fun but also we expect you to be exceptional at customer service. $35/hour for 5 hours minimum.
