Wood Shop Associate Needed for a Manufacturing Company! Start ASAP!!

A company in NW Portland is looking to add a Wood Shop Associate to its team. This company specializes in quality custom crates. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks. The associate is responsible for the completeness and correctness of all production and customer property packaging. Duties: * Construct crates, pallets, and tri wall boxes per specifications * Operate nail guns, saws, drills, shrink wrap equipment as needed * Determine appropriate materials needed for pack and crate per order requirement (i.e. work order, etc.) * Utilize product moving equipment such as fork truck, hand trucks or pallet jacks to move product to appropriate areas * Safely operate the required equipment to fulfill duties * Count any quantity accurately and quickly * Understand the importance of the highest quality of work needed to ensure customer satisfaction * Report non-conformities discovered to the Quality Coordinator * Repack and weigh any orders as required * Ensure a safe work environment for all associates * Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area * All other duties as assigned Requirements: * Basic carpentry skills (or ability to learn) required * Knowledge (or ability to learn) of proper operations of nail guns, saws, drills and other equipment as required. * Understand measurement and dimension * Ability to drive a forklift * Physical ability to stand for extended periods * Comfortable to lift 25-50 lbs Schedule and Pay: * Monday – Thursday (Occasional OT on Friday) * 5am – 4:30pm * $16 - $16.50 / hour
