Basic Function The Service Technician is responsible for preparing the following equipment for installation service of Kinetico systems, Reverse osmosis systems, water coolers and any other equipment that may be necessary. In addition the ST is required to rebuild and prepare equipment from customers for use as rentals. The Service Technician will be required to respond to customer service needs on an as needed basis. This will include but is not limited to; installation of equipment, filter changes, equipment repair, and equipment rebuilds diagnosis of equipment failure and hard water problems. The Service Technician is responsible for unloading the vehicle at the end of the day and reloading the vehicle for the next day service. The Service technician will maintain the vehicle in a clean serviceable condition at all times. Specifically the vehicle will be cleaned at least once a week both inside and out of the vehicle. The Service Technician will check the oil and water prior to operating any company vehicle. Additionally the vehicle will be inspected for any damage daily prior to operation; all discrepancies will be noted on the vehicle inspection report. The Service Technician will share the responsibility of maintaining an inventory of the warehouse and the parts room. The inventory will include all five gallon water bottles, 16.9 oz water bottles, caps for both and labels the five gallon bottles, Slat, copper, pvc, propress, JG Parts, Kinetico parts, rubber gloves and paper towels. This list is not all inclusive and will require the inventory of any item in the warehouse. Principal Accountabilities The Service Technician will be accountable to, and work directly for the Service Manager. Additionally the Service Technician will perform any duties assigned by any other supervisor of Shelton’s Water Refining. Principal Interactions The Service Technician will be required to interact with customers on the telephone and at their residence, other employees’ of the company, walk in customers, delivery drivers and dock customers. Knowledge/ Education Requirements The Service Technician will maintain a class 2 and 3 certification with the TCEQ. Knowledge of the following operations is required for this position; extensive knowledge of Kinetcio parts and equipment. Knowledge of equipment. A working knowledge of the Cation-Anion Deionizer is necessary. Additional knowledge needed is dock operations, warehouse operations and operation of a fork lift. Authority Level This is a non supervisory position.
