Tyvak Nano-Satellite Systems Inc., a Terran Orbital company, is seeking a motivated and experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician at our Irvine, CA location. Tyvak is a leading worldwide provider of nanosatellite and microsatellite vehicles, services, and solutions to Commercial and Government customers. The Facilities Maintenance Technician, maintains and oversees a company’s buildings, systems and equipment to ensure that the workspace and operations are safe and highly functional and efficient. Their duties include assisting in developing scope and both self-performing and managing the execution of service contracts with service providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations and assisting in the coordination of renovations and updates. Responsibilities Managing, Scheduling and Performing maintenance on assigned facilities for clean rooms, electronic assembly, office building and manufacturing. 2-3 locations in the Irvine, CA area. Assist in space planning as needed, can perform duties and/or manage the physical work of moves, adds, and changes to employee workstation locations. Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with supervisors, internal staff, and outside vendors with guidance and direction from Sr. Facilities Manager. Managing the environmental permits and certification requirements as well as processing material/vendor management for the proper storage and disposal of chemicals and waste. Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as completing maintenance tickets, issue and manage /perform work tickets relative to hot/cold calls and equipment performance issues. Self-perform corrections and understand when to engage and escalate to appropriate vendor for repair/restoration of services. Creating project and operational reports for progress on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff. Assisting on construction projects and contractor oversight as needed within assigned facilities. Collaborating with Sr. Facility Manager and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas as directed, such as manufacturing and production spaces, equipment rooms loading docks, and additionally offices, conference rooms and other spaces as needed Other duties as assigned Requirements: 3-5 years of related experience in Manufacturing and technical office facilities Technical degree and/or certifications and training commensurate with the duties described. OSHA, Environmental and forklift operational cert a plus Mechanical skills and strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical building systems for buildings and operational performance areas described previously. Proficiency with facilities management tools (i.e. CMMS or equivalent) and working and usage of project management tools, MS office tools to include Excel, Outlook and Word. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak with all levels of employees, guests, vendors and team members Great time management, organization and prioritization abilities Keen attention to detail and efficient problem-solving skills Candidate should have 3-5 related years of experience in building maintenance roles. Candidate must have a background in plumbing, HVAC, general repair or professional/industrial manufacturing environments. Prior forklift experience and operations certification highly desired Perceptive of their surroundings and can identify the aspects of a company’s facilities that need immediate attention and areas that need to be planned longer term. They listen to the needs of a building’s occupants and report requests and suggestions to supervisor. Possess strong sense of urgency and do the right things first, taking the initiative to resolve them as quickly as possible. They are excellent at prioritizing, planning, managing and scheduling multiple types of services in accordance with the book of work identified. Physical Demands Position may require incumbent to move files, open filing cabinets and bend/stand as necessary. May need to lift boxes, inventory, equipment up to 45 lbs.
