Home Forward is currently seeking two (2) limited-term Maintenance Generalists for our various properties to work in collaboration with our Property Management staff and residents. These positions are scheduled to conclude on 12/31/2022. The Maintenance Generalist performs a wide range unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor tasks to ensure that the agency's apartment communities are safe and sanitary places to live and work, efficient to operate and assets to their neighborhoods. They will close on Tuesday, December 21st at 12:00 am and the pay rate is $20.90 per hour. COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement: To protect the health of the community and employees, Home Forward requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical or religious exemption by November 19, 2021 as a qualification of employment. The rule applies to all employees, as allowable by law. Candidates who receive an offer of employment must provide proof of vaccination upon hire or submit an exception request prior to their start date. The Maintenance Generalist performs a wide range unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor tasks to ensure that the agency's apartment communities are safe and sanitary places to live and work, efficient to operate and assets to their neighborhoods. Some of the key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: 1. Prepare vacant apartment units for resident occupancy. 2. Clean and sanitize property common areas including community rooms, offices, restrooms, laundry rooms, hallways, stairwells, elevators and lobbies; sweep, mop, polish, strip, wax and buff using commercial grade equipment. Set up "wet floor" signs. 3. Complete routine building maintenance and repairs. 4. Monitor, maintain and repair exterior areas of buildings (e.g., clean gutters, roofs, sumps, and perform graffiti abatement tasks etc.). 5. Respond to maintenance emergencies (e.g., water leaks, large spills, emergency alarms, etc.). 6. Clean up and dispose of hazardous waste materials such as syringes, needles, condoms, blood and feces. Dispose of hazardous materials properly. 7. Interact with residents, coworkers, supervisor and others in a professional manner. 8. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
