Open Door is seeking a full-time Housekeeper for its Family Medical Center in Brewster, NY. The hours for this position are 1:30PM - 10PM. The Housekeeper will report to the Housekeeping Supervisor. Responsibilities * Clean and sanitize patient exam rooms, hallways, waiting areas, bathrooms and other areas. * Maintain Center by cleaning, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing. * Keep supplies ready by restocking housekeeping supplies; notifies supervisor if new supplies are needed. * Empty wastebaskets and transports other trash and waste to disposal area. * Replenish supplies, such as bathroom items. * Label and remove infectious waste bags and containers. * Maintain furnishings by dusting and polishing furniture, cleaning and polishing glass surfaces. * Clean stairways and elevators on a regularly scheduled basis. * Follow cleaning procedures as outlined in the Housekeeping Procedures Manual. * Work cooperatively with the maintenance and housekeeping staff. * Appropriately discard hazardous waste from the exam rooms and replenishes sharp containers as needed. * If Designated as responsible for Bio Hazardous Waste removal, complete online training and receive certificate prior to completing this task. Requirements * High school diploma or GED preferred * Able to read, write and speak English * 2 Years of housekeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. * Familiar with cleaning products and equipment as well as cleaning techniques. * Knowledge of Infection Control techniques. * Patient and polite and able to interact effectively with other personnel. * Capable of understanding and working within departmental operations. * Must be able to lift/carry a minimum of 30 pounds. * Prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling climbing, stretching, and possess finger/hand dexterity. * Frequent lifting, pushing of supplies and equipment. * Must be flexible with schedule and able to work additional hours if needed * Perfect attendance and punctuality For Immediate consideration for this opportunity, please email your resume to: Email: [email protected] Fax 914-941-0769 There are many fantastic benefits to a career at Open Door Family Medical Centers.
