Amateur trombonists coming together to share some holiday joy and wonderful music. Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 18th. We have a new rehearsal space and venue for our performance! We will once again be in Grapevine, but this year we will meet at 815 S. Main Street inside the new Grapevine Main train station above Harvest Hall Food Court. Parking is available along the street for free or in the parking garage for a small fee. For morning rehearsal, proceed to the second floor and the “Peace Treaty 3” conference room. Registration will open at 9:30 AM and Rehearsal will begin promptly at 10:00 AM. There will be breakfast snacks and water available. Rehearsal will conclude around Noon and we will break for lunch. Participants are welcome to hang together for lunch to make new friends, reunite with others, or all are welcome to create their own agenda and meet back at 1:45 PM for our 2:00 PM performance. Having the food court near us will be handy! I have sampled several places and it seems the variety available should offer something appealing to most. Invite your non-trombone-playing friends and family to join the audience! We will be performing in front of the large Christmas tree near the sleigh and other grand, new decorations. Guests are welcome to bring a chair to make themselves comfortable during the concert. There are also several tables and chairs scattered on the adjacent patio. This year we will continue to wear our long-sleeved t-shirts for our uniform. If it’s chilly outside, you can plan to wear layers underneath your uniform shirt. If you are new to YuleSlide or a returning participant who wants to order a new shirt, please be sure to register your size taking into account that you may want to layer another shirt or two underneath your long-sleeved YuleSlide t-shirt. I plan to have the t-shirts a week before the event, so if you want to pick up your shirt ahead of time for washing, contact me at [email protected] or call or text 682-227-4251 to arrange pick up. If you are getting your shirt on December 18th, please arrive at 9:30 AM for t-shirt distribution. Remember that in addition to our uniform shirts all are welcome to wear performance-friendly festive hats and accessories. And returning this year – our YuleSlide slide covers! I would like to sew more sleeves to insure a better fit for all players. If your slide cover in 2019 was too small or too large, I would be very grateful if you measured the circumference of your slide and emailed me the total in inches. Be as accurate and specific as possible. I plan to do my best to have a well-fitted slide sleeve for all. These will be collected and redistributed each year to keep them in good condition. Feel free to advertise to trombone players and willing audience members alike!
