I'm looking to add a drummer to my guitar-driven singer/songwriter, folky, jazzy band. I need someone who has a voice on the instrument and who wants to be an equal part of bringing a song to life on stage and during the writing process. My music is influenced by artists like Glen Hansard, Julian Lage, Brian Blade, Charlie Hunter, and Lyle Brewer. I'm also a fan of all those, plus Madison Cunningham, Blake Mills, Jon Batiste, Laura Marling, Jeff Tweedy, Nate Smith, Vulfpeck, Chris Thile, Steely Dan, all the jazz cats,... the list goes on. I've released a few EPs over the past 3 years—some solo instrumental and others with lyrics and accompanying guitars/bass. They're pretty mellow tunes in general, but I'm a drummer as well, and I know how much drums and rhythm can elevate and energize a song. I usually play alongside my wife on upright bass and 1-2 other guitarists. I'm also open to other instruments if you have friends you like to work with (horns, strings, pedal steel).
