Music provided by: Bloodkin + Funk'n Around w/ King Garfield A LITTLE HISTORY: Enter the Earth opened its doors in the Grove Arcade on October 31, 2002. As an avid Widespread Panic follower, ETE owner Nader (who actually started the business on the lot selling rocks in the late 90’s) wanted to bring some sort of annual music event to the business. Thus, Nadar decided on a holiday party and we're still continuing the tradition in Asheville, 19 years later! The first ETE Xmas party kicked off in December 2002 on the Friday night before the Warren Haynes Xmas jam at Enter the Earth, then was moved to Stella Blue and now is hosted at Asheville Music Hall. Further Bloodkin, the headlining band this year, also headlined the very first Enter the Earth Xmas Party in 2002.ABOUT THE BANDS: Bloodkin Daniel Hutchens and Eric Carter met each other when they were eight years old in Ripley, West Virginia. They solidified their early friendship based on a mutual love of baseball, comic books, and rock n roll music. After high school, they started getting a little more serious about their blossoming songwriting partnership. Their road wound through Huntington, WV, and eventually on to Athens, GA, which they soon came to call home. They continued to concentrate on their songwriting, and by the early ‘90s they had a catalogue of over 300 compositions. By this time Hutchens and Carter had given their musical collaboration a "band name": Bloodkin. Funk'n Around Funk'n Around is Asheville's newest band featuring King Garfield on Trombone, Lenny Pettinelli on keys, Kayla Lynn on bass, Nik Hope on drums, Datrian Johnson on vocals, and Alex Bazeman on guitar and a rotating cast of Ashevilles finest.
