Description
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott residents are invited to apply for a recent vacancy on the Housing Authority.
The Housing Authority is responsible for managing public housing properties and systems in accordance with all federal and state policies. Public housing receives full or partial funding from the government.
The Swampscott Housing Authority oversees 136 units and seven residents with housing vouchers.
Since the vacancy occurred mid-term, the Select Board and Housing Authority Board will appoint a candidate who will serve through the April 2022 annual town election.
The successful candidate will be someone with diverse experience and who has a "passion for supporting those residing in public housing."
Candidates will undergo mandatory training to become familiar with all aspects of the housing authority as well as how to serve as a public body.
Women, minorities, veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community, persons with disabilities, and members of other underrepresented demographics are encouraged to apply.
