MARBLEHEAD, MA — A crash into a utility pole caused traffic from Tedesco Street toward Vinnin Square to be detoured Tuesday afternoon. Marblehead police said the car crash compromised the pole near Tedesco Street and Longview Drive. Traffic on Tedesco Street going toward Vinnin Square was detoured left onto Palmer Road to Humphrey Street. Police said inbound traffic on Tedesco Street was flowing normally. "Verizon has been notified and is on the way with a new pole but this detour could be in place for several hours," police said about 1:30 p.m. Police said there were no injuries in the single-car crash. Drivers were asked to avoid the area Tuesday with workers in the roadway. (Scott Souza is a Patch field editor covering Beverly, Danvers, Marblehead, Peabody, Salem and Swampscott.
