Trump "used" the republican party!!! ???

For the last few years I believed that Trump was using the republican party. Trump is clearly not a genuine conservative. Some of Trumps beliefs do align with the conservative agenda, but Trump has NEVER made republican priorities, HIS priority. Did Trump use the GOP for his own personal gain? In recent months I have come to believe that I had it all wrong. Trump did not use the GOP as much as THE REPUBLICANS USED TRUMP. Here is why I believe this. The republicans had no candidate to beat Hillary. Hillary was a lock to win in 2016. Out of nownhewre, Trumps campaign gained rapid support and energy. Trump beating Hillary was a long shot, but it was the best chance Republicans had to win the White House. So, rather than folding and conceding the White House to Hillary, the GOP backed Trump as a sort of Hail Mary pass. And it worked. Trump beat Hillary by the skin of his teeth. Now, the Republican Party is done with Trump. They are working to eject him from politics while retaining his voters at the same time. Now,.. it is the Trump supporters who are getting played. Republicans care about Trumpblican votes but could care less about the Trumpublican agenda. trump thought he was "using" the republicans but in the end, Trump is the fool who got "tossed". Trump loyalists are the chumps. It will be fun to watch this un fold in the next two years leading up to 2024.
