Police ID Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Mercer County Crash

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A pedestrian who was struck and killed on Route 1 in West Windsor on Sunday has now been identified by the police. Ang K. Sherpa, 64, of West Windsor was walking west from The Square and entered into the right lane of Route 1 into the direct path of the car, police said. The 2015 Nissan Altima was being driven by 31-year-old Omaris Sanchez of Plainsboro. Sherpa was struck by the car which continued into the shoulder of the roadway and then stopped. Police said Sherpa was "embedded" in the car's windshield and front passenger area. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
