Description
Folks - I have an old romantic oil painting of a couple, signed and dated 1885. Kinda dark and probably needs cleaning. It is of a male and lady in costume apparently for a play or drama? A friend commented how much the male looked like Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria. If it is Albert, then it is very likely that the lady portrayed (idealistically, in profile) is Queen Victoria. You are welcome to determine the resemblances for yourself, as there are many images available, made during their lifetime. The frame is original and measures 26X32 - appears to be carved, not gesso. If interested in these subjects please let me know. It would make a great unusual, unique gift for any occasion.
