Here are the top stories today in Des Moines: Des Moines police have arrested a man after a string of overnight arson fires. Officers spotted a man leaving the scene of one of the scenes located on Hull Avenue. That man, 32-year-old Andrew Anthony, of Des Moines, ran from officers and was taken into custody in the 700 block of Boyd Street. Police said he is charged with seven counts of second-degree arson and one count of possession of methamphetamine. Additional charges are expected as they continue to investigate. (KCCI Des Moines)Iowa positive COVID-19 tests are spiking and the state's 14-day positivity rate is nearing 12%. On Monday, the Iowa Department of Public Health reported 12,254 positive tests in the last seven days, up from 9,706 on Friday. The state's 14-day positivity rate increased from 11.5% to 11.9%.
