Service Alternatives is a private agency that contracts with the state of Washington to license and support foster homes. Primarily we license homes for children between the ages of 6 and 18 years old who need some extra support that our agency provides. This is due to the trauma that they have experienced. Our agency supports them with trauma informed care and goal planning to help them stabilize and meet their goals. Children in foster care need a loving, safe and stable place to call home while they grow and heal. If you've ever thought about foster parenting or wondered what you can do to make a difference, now is the time to learn more! There is a great need for foster parents because there are simply too many foster children in care for the number of licensed homes. With our agency you receive wraparound support in order to help you be successful. We work together with foster families as a team and value you as the parent. Did you know? You can get licensed if you: * are at least 21 years old and healthy enough to care for a child * rent or own an apartment, house, condo, mobile home... there is no requirement for home ownership to be licensed.
