U.S. District Judge Donetta Ambrose on Monday gave Matthew Michanowicz, 53, was sentenced Monday to time served and three years of probation with the first six months on home detention.
Michanowicz pleaded guilty in August to possession of an unregistered destructive device following an indictment in 2020.
Michanowicz was accused of leaving the military-style backpack at PNC Plaza. Police were notified about the suspicious backpack and discovered the explosives.
