Man Dead After Hit And Run On Winder Road: Gwinnett Police

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Gwinnett police are searching for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run last month. On Nov. 24, police responded to a call about an accident on S.R 8 (Winder Highway) and Still Road. A 56-year-old man from Winder, GA. was driving west on Winder Highway with a passenger when his car was hit, according to police. The man, identified as Gelacio Urquiza Hernandez, lost control of the car and drove over a guardrail, rolling down the embankment. The passenger, 36-year-old Luis Urquiza Requena, died from his injuries. Hernandez was transported to a local hospital and treated for his injuries. Though there is no suspect description, witnesses are encouraged to call GCPD Investigators or Atlanta Crime Stoppers with any helpful information.
