Transportation company seeks a motivated and organized Entry Level, Full-Time Warehouse / Dock Worker to join our team. JOB DESCRIPTION Dock Worker SCHEDULE Full-time, weekdays. Shift starts at 10:00 am and goes until 6:30 pm. JOB SUMMARY The primary function of this position is to check freight against paperwork and do some labeling. It is entry level and ideal for someone who wants to learn and grow within our company. Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Verifies freight against the shipping papers, noting in writing any discrepancies (i.e. overages, shortages, damages). 2. Communicates with supervision regularly to report conditions. 3. Sweeps or cleans up dock and equipment as needed. 4. Labels and shrink wraps freight as directed. Qualifications: SPECIAL SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS 1. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers. 2. Must accurately and efficiently perform basic mathematical calculations necessary to do the work. 3. Has a satisfactory past work record that shows no indication that applicant cannot reasonably fulfill duties of the job. 4. Is able to understand and perform safe, efficient freight handling procedures. 5. Can perform the work required in a timely manner and maintain adequate production in order to meet service schedules. 6. Must consistently demonstrate initiative, positive attitude, professional mannerisms, and commitment to personal, team, and company goals 7.
