Looking to assemble a somewhat regular Northwest Philly based free jam improv squad. Not necessarily interested in writing songs or learning songs or following a leader, just plugging in and playing. Like Anthony Braxton style, flip the hour glass and go for it, play if you want or just listen or have a beer or go take a bathroom break, it doesn’t matter. No instrument limitations. (I primarily play guitar but also have an alto sax, keys, bass and other stuff.) Duo, octet, tentet, whoever shows up. Amateurs welcome! Style-wise, something like Dark Star>El Paso >Mind Left Body Jam, Can Stuttgart 75, Brozzzzzziman’s Machine Gun, No Neck, “Mildred Pierce,” feedback, mashed taters and t bones, early Birds of Maya, Live Evil, skronky Lisa Simpson stuff, Last Exit, Strategies Against Architecture, Arkestra, noise-choogle-static-field recordings, jams run free, post-wook, Endless Boogie, Earth 2, Buck Owens (?), Sumac + Haino, Linda + Sonny, Bennink + Misha, Mickey + Billy, extended techniques + boomer bends, whatever. Would be great if you have a jam space in the Northwest Zone! Either way, reach and let’s see what happens!
