Basic Function: Pick, Pack and, Ship orders, following the established processes, to ensure that the customer experience with Fromm is great. Accountabilities 1. Shipping Merchandise from the Distribution Center. Responsible for the merchandise leaving the company’s Distribution Center. 2. Work Area Maintenance. Ensures that the shipping area and picking locations are clean and organized. 3. Cross Training. Crossed trained in other departments. Reporting Relationships 1. Up: Distribution Center Manager (Luis Soto Jr.) & Asst. DC Manager (Josue Degante) 2. Sideways: Senior Receiving Associate (Gustavo Castro), Customer Service team, Receiving team, Assembly team, Supply Chain team, and Shipping team. Principal Duties 1. Shipping Merchandise from the Distribution Center. a. Assembles and fills boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped. b. Effectively uses organization systems and warehouse technology to locate and gather stock (scanners). c. Processes orders based on the buyer’s preferred shipping method (e.g., USPS, UPS, FedEx) d. Prints packing list for each shipment and invoice upon request only. e. Prepares and prints shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs. f. Affixes shipping labels to each package in preparation for shipment. g. Works efficiently within a busy atmosphere. h. Processes and builds freight orders. i. Required lines per day are a minimum average of: 275. j. Loads UPS trailer at end of day according to the schedule. 2. Work Area Maintenance. a. Ensures that the shipping area and picking locations are clean and organized. b. Sweeps the shipping area, which consists of the following: • Under and around shipping tables • UPS pallet staging area • Outbound dock doors • Near the lockers c. Replenishes required shipping supplies, which consists of the following: • Cartons • Tape • UPS blank labels • Packing paper • Shrink wrap • Packing list envelopes • Blades for knives • Pens and markers d. Keeps the pick locations clean and organized: • Removes empty cartons • Pulls or pushes product forward • Ensures product is in the correct location • Cuts down cardboard at the end of day and takes it to the compactor 3. Cross training. a. Can work in other departments. b. Assemble school kits and other assemblies—Assembly Department. c. Cycle Counting—General Warehouse. d. Receive incoming shipments—Receiving Department. e. Use handheld for replenishments—General Warehouse. Competencies 1. Pallet mover certification training is required. Fromm can provide. 2. Problem solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Works well in group problem solving situations. 3. Planning and organizing: Prioritizes and plans work activities. Uses time efficiently. Plans for additional resources. 4. Quality: Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality. 5. Adaptability: Adapts to changes in the work environment; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. 7. Reliability: On time and ready every day. Willing and able to work OT. Qualifications 1. High school diploma or equivalent. Physical Demands 1. You will need to lift up to 50 lbs. 2. You will need to be on your feet/walking all day. 3. You will need good hand /eye coordination. 4. You will be required to reach with hands and arms. 5. You will be required to stand; walk; stoop; kneel; pull or crouch. Logistics Monday through Friday work from 7:30AM to 4:00PM (45 minute lunch, with one ten minute break).
